Heer Service tunic from an Infantry Lieutenant, with photos in wear!
This wonderful tunic comes with around 50 photos from the original owner, a few of which shows him wearing the tunic.
There is one photo showing him as a boy at an air show, the rest are related to his military career. He was killed in action in Ukraine in 1942 and the lot includes several photos of his grave as well as a death notice. He is also listed in the archives of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge.
The tunic is a fairly large size and in excellent condition inside and out. All insignia is originally applied and clearly recognisable on his portrait photo! The same portrait is displayed on the reverse of the death notice. It's rare to find a tunic that can be this clearly seen in a period photo. Even individual threads and small flaws in the breast eagle can be recognised.
