Luftwaffe Named officer's flight blouse for an Oberst of Flight
Here we have a wonderful, well worn flight blouse for a full Oberst!
It is made of high quality, very smooth cloth.
The right side of the breast features a bullion officer's eagle showing a little oxidation.
The blouse shows overall wear, inside and outside. The insignia has matching wear, although the collar patches show less wear than the eagle and shoulder boards. This makes sense, since the collar patches were applied upon promotion to Oberst, while the shoulder boards were just upgraded with pips since the rank of Major.
The lower left side of the front shows a few small moth holes, and a small mending.
Inside in the neck area there's a frayed tailor label from Petersen & Co of München. Inside the breast pocket there's a worn name label from the same company with the officer's name, rank and date. He had the jacket made as a Hauptmann in 1938.
It's not every day you see a flight blouse for a full Oberst. And this one is even named!
