Luftwaffe Tunic, belt and PPK holster of Major Heimsch
This grouping was originally part of a large group of items from Heimsch, sold by Hermann Historica.
Heimsch served with 10 (F)LG 2 at Fliegerhorst Kiel-Holtenau - a unit that flew DO 18s (flying boats) before the war. He earned among other awards the EK2, EK1 and the transport clasp in gold.
Tunic is a wonderful, high quality tailor made example. It is free of mothing but shows overall service wear and some dirt, especially in the neck area. Most likely, this was his everyday tunic.
The bullion breast eagle has some oxidation, but otherwise the insignia is very nice, and IMO 100% period applied!
A nice and unusual feature is, that the tunic can be closed at the neck, using a 5th silver button and a little strap under the collar, which holds the revers in place.
Inside features a wide dagger hanger and a label from the tailor in Warnemünde.
With the tunic comes a brown officer's belt and a brown PPK holster with Heimsch' name (both as Oberleutnant and Major) and his unit.
